5 Confident Ways to Follow Up with a Warm Lead Who Ghosted You

If you're in sales, business development, coaching, consulting, or content creation, you've probably experienced it…prospects expressing an interest and then disappearing in way that feels awkward.
You have a great conversation with a prospect. They seem interested. They ask thoughtful questions. They tell you they're excited about what you offer.
And then...
Nothing.
No response to your email.
No reply to your message.
No decision.
They've ghosted you. Now you are in limbo.
Confused – and the question is: do I back off and lose the sale, or do I press forward and keep trying?
Most sales advice will tell you to follow up relentlessly, create urgency, overcome objections, or use a sequence designed to wear down resistance.
I prefer a different approach.
The Law of Attraction teaches us that people respond to more than just words.
They respond to energy.
They respond to intention.
They respond to how we make them feel.
When someone goes silent, it doesn't mean you should disappear. It also doesn't mean you should chase. Instead, it invites you to follow up from a place of confidence, service, and alignment.
Before we talk about what to say, let's talk about who you need to be when you say it. In other words line up your energy before you do anything.
Before You Follow Up: Align Your Energy First
The quality of your follow-up starts long before you type the first word or pick-up the phone to call.
Most people reach out from a state of fear.
They worry they've lost the sale.
They wonder whether they've been rejected.
They start telling themselves stories about what the silence means.
That energy inevitably finds its way into the interaction.
The words may sound professional, but the vibration underneath them is neediness. Neediness to make money is the salespersons biggest hurdle.
People can feel that. Your vibe makes them uncomfortable – they can’t put a finger on it, but they feel it’s better not to move forward – something feels off. That something is your “vibe.”
So before you reach out, take a moment to prepare yourself – fix your vibe. Let me help you understand how to do that.
Remember There Is Abundance
This prospect is not your only opportunity.
There are more clients.
There are more customers.
There are more people who need what you offer.
When you remember this, you stop treating the interaction as something you must control.
Instead of needing this person to say yes, you become available for whatever unfolds.
Confidence comes from knowing that your success is bigger than any single opportunity.
Prepave the Interaction
One of my favourite manifestation practices is pre-paving.
Rather than focusing on a specific outcome, focus on the quality of the interaction you want to create.
Before reaching out, set an intention such as:
"I intend for this interaction to be positive, easy, and beneficial for both of us."
Or:
"I intend to provide value, create connection, and leave this person feeling supported – I want them to feel better than they did when we started talking."
Notice that neither intention is attached to making the sale.
That's important.
When we become attached to a specific outcome, we often create resistance. When we focus on creating value, we create ease and flow.
Remember That Vibrational Alignment Changes
One of the biggest mistakes people make is assuming that silence equals rejection.
It doesn't.
If someone ghosted you, it may simply mean they weren't a vibrational match for your offer at that particular moment.
Perhaps they were overwhelmed.
Perhaps they were dealing with something personal.
Perhaps another priority demanded their attention and money.
Whatever the reason, don't make their silence mean something negative about you or your offer.
People change.
Their circumstances change.
Their beliefs change.
Their readiness changes.
And most importantly, how they feel changes.
Someone who wasn't ready three months ago may be completely ready today.
Approach the follow-up with curiosity instead of making assumptions about why they are ghosting you.
Focus on Being Memorable, Not Convincing
Your job isn't to pressure someone into making a decision.
Your job is to remain visible, valuable, and authentic.
If they aren't ready today, your follow-up can still strengthen the relationship.
It can remind them who you are
It can reinforce your expertise.
It can create goodwill.
It can provide value.
Sometimes the purpose of a follow-up isn't to close a sale. It's to plant a seed – to be memorable.
Release the Outcome
After you've sent the message, let it go.
Don't obsessively refresh your inbox. Don't create stories about why they haven't responded.
Trust that you've shown up with integrity and authenticity.
Trust that you've added value.
Trust that the right opportunities are always making their way to you.
This is where attraction replaces chasing.
Now let's talk about how to follow up in a way that feels natural, respectful, and effective.
1. Remind Them of Their Vision
One of the most powerful NLP principles is future pacing, helping someone reconnect with the future they desire.
Most people follow up by talking about themselves:
"Just checking in to see if you've had a chance to review my proposal."
Instead, bring the conversation back to the goal they shared with you.
You might say:
"When we spoke, you mentioned wanting to streamline your content strategy so you could spend more time serving your clients. I was thinking about our conversation and wondering how that's progressing for you."
Notice what happens.
You're not chasing.
You're reminding them of what they want.
People buy solutions because they want a different future. When you reconnect them with that future, the conversation becomes meaningful again.
2. Assume Positive Progress
Many follow-up messages unconsciously assume resistance.
"I haven't heard back. Are you still interested?"
This language presupposes that something has gone wrong.
Instead, use language that assumes growth, reflection, and movement.
For example:
"I'm curious what insights you've gained since we last connected."
Or:
"As you've been thinking through your next steps..."
These phrases subtly communicate confidence.
They assume the person has been processing, learning, and evolving.
From a Law of Attraction perspective, you're focusing on expansion rather than absence.
3. Speak to Their Future Identity
People don't just buy products and services.
They buy the identity those products and services help them become.
Think back to your last conversation.
Who did they tell you they wanted to be?
A stronger leader?
A more confident entrepreneur?
A business owner who works fewer hours and earns more money?
Reflect that identity back to them.
For example:
"One thing that stood out during our conversation was how committed you were to becoming a business owner who leads strategically rather than constantly reacting to challenges. I appreciate that about you."
This works because it speaks directly to their self-concept.
The Law of Attraction teaches that our external results follow our internal identity.
When you remind someone of who they are becoming, you help them reconnect with their own vision.
4. Create Space Instead of Asking for a Decision
Not every interaction with a prospect needs to move the sale forward.
Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is simply stay connected in a way that feels generous, respectful, and human.
When someone has gone quiet, they may not need another question about whether they are ready. They may simply need to experience you as someone who is steady, supportive, and not attached to getting something from them.
Instead of making the follow-up about their decision, make it about the relationship.
You might say:
"I thought of you today because of something we discussed in our last conversation. I hope things are unfolding well on your end."
Or:
"I came across this idea and it reminded me of what you were working toward. Sharing it in case it’s useful."
Or:
"No need to respond; I just wanted to send this along because it felt relevant to our conversation."
This kind of message carries no pressure.
It doesn’t ask them to explain themselves.
It doesn’t require them to make a decision.
It doesn’t put them in the position of having to say yes or no.
It simply keeps the connection warm.
From a Law of Attraction perspective, this is important because you are not pushing against their silence. You are not trying to fix, force, or manage the outcome.
You are showing up in service.
And when your energy says, “I’m here to add value, not extract a decision,” people feel safer around you. That is how trust is built.
5. Offer Fresh Value Instead of "Just Checking In"
Perhaps the most overused phrase in sales is:
"Just checking in."
Think about how many times you've received that email yourself.
It doesn't create curiosity.
It doesn't provide value.
It doesn't move the conversation forward.
Instead, offer a fresh insight.
Share a relevant article.Provide a useful observation.Offer a perspective that relates to their goals.
For example:
"I came across an idea this week that reminded me of our conversation. I've noticed that many entrepreneurs delay important decisions not because they're uncertain about the solution, but because they're adjusting to the identity shift that comes with success. It made me think of you."
Now you've given them something worth engaging with.
You're contributing instead of requesting.
You're serving instead of chasing.
And that energy makes all the difference.
Final Thoughts
The best follow-up strategy isn't a script.
It's a mindset.
It's the ability to remain grounded in abundance when someone goes silent.
It's the willingness to add value without attachment.
It's the confidence to believe that the right opportunities arrive at the right time.
When you approach follow-ups from that place, your words become more effective because they are backed by certainty rather than need.
Remember:
People don't respond because they feel pursued.
They respond because they feel understood.
And when your follow-up communicates genuine value, sincere interest, and unwavering confidence, you're no longer trying to get a response.
You're creating the conditions for connection.
And in sales, as in life, connection is where everything begins.
